Accommodation

New-wigwam-siteVoyage the world, from the comfort of North Northumberland in a wooden wigwam or a Mongolian yurt.  At Pot-a-Doodle Do visitors not only have a fun Interactive Art Studio, a children’s play area, fishing, and a great shop; but also the chance to stay in an amazing specially designed wooden wigwam, or a traditional Mongolian home called a yurt. Children really love experiencing the wigwam and yurt holidays, which gives them the chance to come into contact with the great outdoors, bringing them closer to nature.

Experience glamorous-camping at any time of the year in the beautifully designed and well equipped wooden wigwams. There are twenty-three to choose from, two of which even have en-suit facilities! You can have splendid sea views from six of the wigwams, and five of them are also dog friendly, so you can bring up to two faithful four-legged friends to the Pot-a-Doodle Do ‘glamping’ experience!

The wooden wigwams at Pot-a-Doodle Do are really luxurious, and spacious. They have everything you require for a long weekend getaway, or even a weeklong holiday away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Each wigwam has insulation, a panel heater, and double glazing, as well as electrical sockets, a kettle and a fridge.

Inside, the comfy wall-to-wall benches convert to make a sleeping area, and outside at the front of your wigwam, you have your very own sun deck and picnic table for dining al fresco.

Mongolian yurts are the fantastic traditional homes of nomadic tribes. Designed to be easily dismantled and carried from location to location on the backs of yaks or camels, these deceptively large and spacious homes are exceedingly warm and cosy. All three of the canvas yurts at Pot-a-Doodle do are well insulated with pine floors and have thick futons for a great nights sleep. Your yurt comes with a romantic wood-burning stove to snuggle up in comfort, and you can even stargaze from bed. Why not book a campfire to be all ready built and waiting for your arrival! What better way to make toasted marshmallows, tell tall tales, or sing campfire songs with family and friends. Feel like a barbeque? Well, there are three fabulous barbeque huts for hire, where you can cook, chat and enjoy the outdoor life.

Two of the yurts can sleep up to five in comfort, and the third yurt can sleep up to eight. Please note, dogs are not permitted in the yurts. No disposable BBQs are allowed on site.

Guests in both the wigwams and the yurts can use the well-equipped communal kitchen to make their meals. Naturally the site is very family friendly, and the toilet and shower block has special family shower rooms. There is also a play area for children.

Fun Weekend AwayThe unique and very original Pot-a-Doodle Do wooden Wigwam and Mongolian yurt ‘glamping’ experience is ideal for groups of family and friends wanting to holiday together. The whole site can even be booked for wedding parties, receptions, birthday parties, sleepovers and corporate events. The location is ideal for get-away-from-it-all holidays; discovering the history and beauty of the local area; enjoying outdoor sports such as horse riding, cycling, walking, sailing and diving. Plus there are many local golf courses and world famous fishing on the river Tweed.
