2024 CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON TEA MENU

 

 

Our café is open 7 days a week from Easter until September, we then operate winter hours from 1st September where we are closed on Monday and Tuesdays.

Opening hours are 9am until 4pm (Last hot food orders 3pm, coffee and traybakes 3.30pm. Please pre-book at busy times and for Sundays).

Breakfast is served from 9am until 11am, you can choose from a full Borewell Breakfast, bacon, sausage or egg rolls, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, or a sweet treat of pancakes with fruit and maple syrup. We use locally sourced products and your meal is cooked to order.

Our coffee is from Northern Edge Coffee, roasted in Berwick. Enjoy a mid-morning coffee or tea with a scone, cake or traybake. We have a range of specialty teas and your caffeine fix can be an Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte or Mocha, the choice is yours. We specialize in classic traybakes such as caramel shortbread, border tart, empire biscuits and mars bar crispy. Our scones are served with butter and our homemade jam or chutney.

From 12 noon we serve our light bite lunch menu and to ensure you get the amazing taste of Northumberland we use local produce as and when we can. Light bites include haggis bon bons, quiche and scampi. Specials are charcuterie platters, fishcakes, nachos and much more. Meals are made to order and we can offer options for those with food intolerances. Our lunches include fresh homemade soup of the day which can be served with bread & butter, a warm cheese scone or a sandwich of your choice. Deep filled quiche of the day is a popular choice as well as our Croque monsieur & 100% Beef burgers from Well Hung & Tender.

We also cater for our younger diners with our Children’s menu which includes burgers, jacket potato or a snack box.

We also sell Giacopazzis ice cream and mars ice creams.

Come to Pot a Doodle Do and enjoy our very own Cider in the Restaurant. Or buy some in our shop and take it home with you to enjoy at your leisure. New Flavours to choose from :Traditional Apple, Apple and Raspberry, Apple and Morrello Cherry, Pineapple and Passion Fruit and Heather Honey. All made with apples from our own Borewell Orchard. £15 for 1.5L.

On Sunday we have a Sunday lunch menu which includes delicious starters, roast of the day as well as other specials and mouth-watering desserts. Our café is licensed so you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer with your meal.

Why not treat yourself to a Borewell Afternoon Tea, delicious sandwiches of your choice, quiche, cake & traybakes, scones with jam and fresh cream with a cup of tea, coffee or a chilled glass of sparkling prosecco.

In the colder months of the year, we have a log burner in our restaurant which makes a warm cosy atmosphere whilst enjoying local food and coffee at its best.

Onsite Beer Garden – Cherry Tree Brasserie Marquee

A Spacious well aired area set in our garden where customers can enjoy a bite to eat with a fine wine, speciality beer or lager. With pleasant surroundings and a friendly atmosphere as well as relaxing background music.

Available for private functions and birthday parties. Can seat up to 40 people.
